Antique & Sentimental Jewellery Restoration

Antique and sentimental jewellery requires a different approach from modern repair work. We restore heirloom pieces with a focus on preserving original character, craftsmanship and historical detail while ensuring each piece remains structurally sound and wearable.

With training in traditional goldsmithing and silversmithing techniques in the United Kingdom, Matthew brings specialist knowledge to the restoration of antique and heirloom pieces.

How We Assess Your Jewellery

Each piece is assessed individually before work begins. We check the setting, stones, metal condition and previous repairs so we can recommend the most appropriate approach.

  • We assess wear, damage and structural integrity.

  • We check whether stones are secure.

  • We explain repair options before work begins.

  • Where restoration is not the best path, we may recommend remodelling or recycling the materials into a new piece.

Why Work Is Carried Out In-House

Most repair work is completed in our own workshop rather than being sent away to a third-party repair centre. This allows us to maintain quality control, communicate directly with clients and make informed decisions about each piece as work progresses.

From laser welding delicate claws to traditional fabrication and stone setting, repairs are carried out using the techniques best suited to the individual piece.

For delicate repairs, we use precision welding where appropriate, including work such as rebuilding worn claws and securing fine components.

When Repair Isn't The Best Option

Jewellery Transformations

Some pieces are too worn, too damaged or too costly to restore economically. In these situations we can often reuse gemstones and precious metals in a completely new design, preserving the sentimental value while creating something better suited to everyday wear.

Sell or Recycle Old Gold

If a piece is beyond repair or no longer wanted, the gold may be recycled and credited toward future jewellery work.
