Restoration - a Gemstone Bracelet

The Problem & Assessment

This remarkable gemstone bracelet had become increasingly fragile through years of wear. The hinges were worn, settings were no longer secure, and several structural components required rebuilding before the piece could be safely worn again.

Featuring an extraordinary collection of coloured gemstones, the bracelet held both significant monetary and sentimental value. A full restoration was recommended to preserve the piece and ensure it could continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Restoration Process

Rather than carrying out isolated repairs, the bracelet was carefully dismantled so that every setting and hinge could be assessed individually.

Each gemstone was removed and documented before worn components were repaired or rebuilt. The settings were restored, hinges refurbished, and every stone re-clawed and secured by hand. Once reassembled, the bracelet was extended to achieve a more comfortable fit before receiving a final clean and polish.
