Sell Unwanted Gold

We purchase gold, silver, platinum and palladium jewellery throughout Toowoomba area and the Lockyer Valley.

Many clients choose to sell unwanted jewellery and use the value toward repairs, remodelling, or a new custom-made piece.

Sometimes jewellery is too worn, damaged or unsuitable for repair. In these cases, the metal value can still be used toward something new.

Option 1: Sell It for Payment

  • Immediate payment

  • Based on weight and purity

  • Gold, silver, platinum and palladium accepted

Option 2: Credit It Toward New Work

  • Credit the metal value toward jewellery work

  • Create something you will actually wear

Can My Old Gold Be Used in the New Piece?

Not always.

Each piece is assessed individually. Larger solid pieces such as bangles, heavier pendants and simple solid bands can sometimes be melted and incorporated into a new design.

For more detailed or delicate work, we may recommend crediting the original gold value toward a new piece made from freshly alloyed precious metal. This is because older rings, chains and repaired pieces may contain unknown alloys, solder joins or contaminants that can affect the quality and durability of the finished jewellery.

Every project is assessed individually.

What Do You Buy?

As licensed second-hand dealers, MN Jewellery Design purchases most gold, silver, platinum and palladium jewellery, including rings, chains, bracelets, earrings, gold watches, coins and broken jewellery.

Gold and precious metals are assessed based on metal type, weight and current refining value. Sentimental, design or retail replacement value is not included in scrap gold pricing. Condition does not usually matter for scrap metal value. Significant gemstones may occasionally be purchased separately after assessment.

What Happens To Scrap Gold?

  1. We assess and sort the jewellery.

  2. The metal is refined to recover pure precious metals.

  3. Refined metal can then be re-alloyed for future jewellery work.

  4. The value may be paid to you or credited toward a new project.

Should I sell my old jewellery or remodel it?

If your jewellery has sentimental value, a transformation project may be a better option.
