OLD GOLD, BROKEN JEWELLERY & PRECIOUS METALS
Sell Your Old Gold
We purchase unwanted gold, silver, platinum and palladium jewellery by appointment. Clients may choose payment or apply the value toward repairs, remodelling or a future custom jewellery project.
Old, broken or unwanted jewellery can still hold significant metal value. We assess precious metal jewellery by metal type, weight and purity, then provide a clear purchase value based on current refining prices.
This service is available by appointment and is often useful for clients who have jewellery they no longer wear, damaged pieces that are not suitable for repair, or gold they would prefer to sell rather than remodel.

Selling or Reusing Old Gold
Sometimes old gold can be reused in a new piece, but not always. Older rings, chains and repaired jewellery can contain unknown alloys, solder joins or contaminants that may affect the strength and finish of new jewellery.
In many cases, the better option is to sell or credit the metal value, then create the new piece from freshly alloyed precious metal.
Should I sell my old jewellery or remodel it?
If your jewellery has sentimental value, a transformation project may be a better option.
What Do You Buy?
As licensed second-hand dealers, MN Jewellery Design purchases most gold, silver, platinum and palladium jewellery, including rings, chains, bracelets, earrings, gold watches, coins and broken jewellery.
Gold and precious metals are assessed based on metal type, weight and current refining value. Sentimental, design or retail replacement value is not included in scrap gold pricing. Condition does not usually matter for scrap metal value. Significant gemstones may occasionally be purchased separately after assessment.
What Happens To Scrap Gold?
We assess and sort the jewellery.
The metal is refined to recover pure precious metals.
Refined metal can then be re-alloyed for future jewellery work.
The value may be paid to you or credited toward a new project.
