From Unworn Family Diamond Rings to a Tsavorite Garnet Engagement Ring

Family gold and diamonds were reimagined into a bespoke engagement ring, centred around a rare, vivid green tsavorite garnet selected from our gemstone collection.

Design Development & Brief

The client wanted an engagement ring that incorporated diamonds and gold from sentimental family jewellery, while creating something entirely new for his fiancée.

After reviewing a selection of gemstones, the client chose a vivid 1.71ct checkerboard-cut tsavorite garnet from our collection. The rich green colour provided a striking contrast to the reused family diamonds, while flowing scrollwork and hand-pierced details were developed to create an elegant and distinctive design.

The final concept balanced sentiment, craftsmanship and individuality, transforming inherited materials into a ring designed to be worn and treasured for generations to come.

The client’s family gold was refined and incorporated into the new design alongside the client’s diamonds. The ring was hand fabricated in 18ct yellow and white gold, with each setting individually constructed and assembled at the bench.

The family diamonds were grain set into the scrollwork shoulders, while hand-pierced details beneath the settings created visual interest without adding unnecessary bulk. Every stage of the process was completed by hand in our workshop.

Inside the Workshop

The finished ring centres on a rare 1.71ct tsavorite garnet, chosen specifically for its exceptionally vivid green colour. Reused family diamonds provide both sparkle and sentimental significance, while handcrafted scrollwork and grain-set details add character from every angle.

By combining inherited materials with a carefully selected gemstone and bespoke craftsmanship, the finished piece carries family history into a new engagement ring made for the next chapter.
