Diamond-Set Platinum Initial Pendant

Commissioned as a special birthday gift, this diamond-set initial pendant was handcrafted in platinum and set with diamonds supplied by the client. Chosen for its natural white colour, durability and premium feel, platinum provided the perfect foundation for a personalised piece designed to be worn and enjoyed every day.

From fabrication through to final stone setting, every stage of the pendant's construction was completed in our workshop.

Design Development & Brief

The client wanted a personalised pendant featuring the initial "L", incorporating a collection of existing diamonds. The design needed to be clean, contemporary and durable enough for everyday wear while allowing the diamonds to become the focal point of the piece.

A bold block-style letter was selected, providing enough surface area to showcase the stones while maintaining crisp, modern lines.

Inside the Workshop

The pendant began as a hand-fabricated platinum letter form. Each diamond position was carefully measured, drilled and prepared before the stones were individually set by hand.

Platinum is prized for its strength, density and naturally white colour. Unlike white gold, it does not require rhodium plating to maintain its appearance, making it an excellent choice for jewellery intended for long-term wear.

Once all diamonds were securely set, the pendant was polished and finished to create a bright, clean surface that allows the diamonds to take centre stage.
