A Favourite Ring Recreated in Gold
A much-loved silver ring was recreated in gold using the client’s own old jewellery, transforming a favourite everyday design into a more precious and lasting piece.

Design Development & Brief
The client wanted to use all their old diamonds from their old jewellery (just unwanted and unworn jewellery) - a mix of rose, yellow. And make a pendant with an “S” on it. - for her initials, a gift for herself. . Presented with multiple design options she chose the domed pendant as it could be worn either way (initial side up or diamond side up)
Designs presented to the client.
The gold ready for melting.
Inside the Workshop
The client’s old gold was assessed, weighed and melted down before being worked into new material
The client’s old gold was melted, formed and worked by hand and made into a domed pendant.
The Finished Piece
The finished ring kept the design the client already loved, but gave it new permanence and value in gold. By using her own old jewellery, the piece became more than a remake — it carried material from her past into something she could continue to wear and enjoy.
This project shows how transformation does not always mean changing everything. Sometimes the most meaningful commission is about preserving what already works, while recreating it in a stronger, more personal and more enduring form.

At a Glance
A favourite design does not always need to be reinvented. In this project, the client’s much-loved silver ring became the starting point for a new handmade gold piece, created using her own old jewellery. The result preserved the look and feel of the original while giving it new sentimental value, durability and permanence.
